It's the end of another day at the Crusty Crab and I still did not get tipped. Do you have a minute to let me vent? I am going to start from the day I was hired!    I can remember the day I was hired like it was yesterday. I ran into my boss, Mr.Crab at Bikini Mart and he offered me a job at the crusty crab as a cook. He told me the pay would be good the longer I stayed. As a cook, it is my duty to cut all the vegetables, and prep the food. It is also my duty to clean out the greaser and the kitchen. I have to cook the food fresh as well! This job is very demanding. How is it, that I only get $11.00 an hour and Squidward gets his pay check and tips. I never really understood that because my job is very demanding.    I always go home with a smile no matter how upset this makes me. I usually get up for a morning run but I decided to do it at night today. As I was running through Bikini Bottom I hear some sound noises coming from Crusty Crab. I saw Squidward inside the big trash dump

I enjoyed reading this  Jatakas Tale . I did not know that these tales were Middle Eastern stories. That is pretty cool.  This story was about envy. I think that the moral was great because the Ox was looking at the pig wondering why they get all the good food when they are lazy and they don't do any hard work on the farm. Unlike the pigs, the Ox works hard and has to eat straw grass. However, the pig was just being fattened up so they could feast. I think this story was well written and I would not change the story line. I am thinking about replacing the characters definitely. This would be a great story to incorporate in my Spongebob theme.  The Ox who Envied

The Jatakas Tale that I chose is the Monkey and the Crocodile. The story was great and I think the moral of the dstory was good as well. The moral of the story is " There are bigger fool in this world. Don't underestimate yourself" The crocodile had to find a way to get a monkeys heart to give to his wife. The monkey told the crocodile that he left his heart and the crocodile believed him. At the end the monkey used the crocodile to get across the river. The monkey fooled him! I think this would be a great story to start off with my spongebob theme. I could have someone trick spongebob but have spongebob trick him even better! The Heroic section of the readings caught my eye. So, I decided to read his voyage stories.  He was an inheritor of his parents wealth and spent it recklessly on things he desired. I can think of a couple scenarios of college students doing that. In order to fix the mess he made, he sold his house goods by public auction. and joined a company of merchants.  They traveled from island to island where they sold and exchanged their merchandise. He experienced some hard times during traveling but when he arrived at an island the king lead him to the inhabited part of the island.  I think this story resembles the life-style of a college kid that does not have responsibility. I can write a story about how the student receives money from their parents to pay their school bill and to pay their bills. However the students goes and spends the money on things that he desires. When he realize he has to pay his school bill he goes and sell the majority of the things that he should not hav

I chose to read about the  Life of Buddha  because I have always been fascinated with Buddha and the people who worship him. I first started with the Maya's Dream story. It started out talking about Maya's Dream and in her dream she saw a young elephant defending from the sky. It reminded me of a god from when I took Epics of India. The Gods praised her when she saw the elephant god enter her womb and she woke up in happiness. Queen Maya went to the woods and sent her maidens to get King Suddhodana. When he tried to come to the woods he was agitated and could not enter the woods. They were both happy when it was known that a great joy will be theirs. Maya was able to be a veneration to the sick, when they walked up to her they were cured. This is a great story, it is so great that want to flip the story and make it a tragedy that she is with child. I want to make the child a demon or maybe her have twins in her womb and one me a demon and one be a great joy. I would keep the

I decided to watch the  Crash Course Mythology  video.  Many myths come in many different versions. You may come across the same story but may be a little different due to interpretation. Some problems with myths are there are not any real authors. Though the eyes of a folkloreist proper myths only deal with the creation of the world, and many myths are religious. There are some myths that don't have any supernatural story lines.  It is mentioned that myths always include some sort of God. I was not aware of that. I feel like it would only be appropriate to have some sort of superior being in my storytelling. I have noticed that the mythical stories that I have came across and the different cultures that I have studied, all have their own version of how the world was created.  Before watching this three part series I did not know what Euhemerism meant. For reading part B I chose to a story out of the Bible Women section,  Elizabeth and Mary  . Elizabeth is known as the wife of Priest Zechariah. They were both old and Elizabeth could not bare children. He had been praying for a son and because him and his wife was obedient to God and angel named Gabriel appeared before him and told him that they would bare a child. The angel told him the son it not to drink wine or any alcoholic beverage and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit.  Zechariah could not believe it and doubted the angel. He made him silent until the child is bon. God also gave Mary a child as well, who she was to name Jesus. I think this could be turned into a story where the two men who are husbands are like, How in the world are you are pregnant and we have not had intercourse. I could do an infidelity story but in the end the women were really pregnant by the Holy Spirit. However, the women will have to fight for their marriage.   Gabriel and Mary, by Fra A

This week I chose to read about the failure of man in the  Adam and Eve  unit. There is a serpent that is very manipulative to Eve. Adam and Eve were placed in a garden and was told by God. They can eat from all of the trees except for one. They are not to eat the fruit of the tree. Adam commanded Eve not to even touch the tree. However, the serpent confined her to do so. This kind of reminds me of the time when we are kids and out parents says, " Hey, don't you do that". That, maybe being, playing with fire or talking to strangers. I think that could be a good story line to base off of this story. As the story continues, the serpent eats the fruit off the tree and does not die. Eve was then conflicted because God told her if she ate from the tree she would die. So she felt as if she was being lied to and ate the apple and she saw death fall upon her. Now she gets all living things to eat the fruit so she is not alone. God appears and is disappointed. I think I can do

In the feedback gallery,  there  is a section that has comments talking about ways to expand the story. I think this is an important tool because this easy you can contribute to expanding the authors way of thinking. Sometimes as authors we already have a background in the topic and we are not as detailed as we should be in our stories. We sometimes with out knowing it we don't  go into as much detail as we should. Something that I did not do in Epics of India class is point out the things that confused me in the stories. I would stop reading it and click a different one if it was confusing. This semester I think I need to stick to the story and ask the author about what was they meant in the story. I would hope someone would mention anything confusing about my stories because their feed back could help me improve as a story teller. I enjoyed reading the article about negative feedback. Specifically the section about a fixed mindset. I think in life we tend to have a fixed mind

For my Story book research I am thinking about doing a Spongebob theme with a mermaid twist. There are an assortment of Mermaid stories. In the Mythical-Folklore UN-Textbook, I am going to use Dan Ashliman's site. The  Mermaid Wife  specifically. I am thinking to make a storyline about the relationship between spongebob and the mermaid in a diary setting. My second choice is to do Alice in Wonderland stories but so Spongebob in wonderland and instead of having the setting in the sea. I would take Spongebob and put him in the  Wonderland . I would probably keep the diary theme as well. Alice in Wonderland My third choice is to do the ghost of spongebob and do a storybook over  University of Oklahoma ghost stories ! I can remember like yesterday, it was the happiest day of my husband and I lives. We had our first child March 13th, 2002. Her name is Mahleeyha Calvert. As a baby she was the sweetest. I can remember every morning I would walk into her room and she would have the biggest smile on her face holding onto the side of her crib waiting for me. I swear he smile was brighter than the sun shinning on California. I treasure those days because recently she's been acting like a completely different child. It scares me. It is almost like something has possessed her. I came home after work as usual and I could hear a weird tapping noise and a random scream. I ran to her room thinking someone was hurting her but she spasming out and shaking her head furiously while tapping on the window by her bed. I was shook. My reading notes for part be will come from  Biblical Stories plus Apocrypha  specifically the Noahs Ark Unit.  :  The Legends of the Jews  by Louis Ginzberg (1909): Book 1, Chapter 4 Noah [ LIBRIVOX AUDIO ].  This story is taking place after the flood has happened. The story starts of my saying the earth took its old form at the end of the year of punishment. Noah was scared to leave the ark because he though God was going to flood the earth again. He did not abandon the ark until God promised he would not do so. This kinda reminds me of when I was a little kid and I would make my mom promise me something before I would do a certain task. I may create a story based off of my childhood experience. Noah wept when he stepped off the boat because of how terribly everything was destroyed. He said to God  that he should have had more mercy on the creatures. God had Noah pick two of every creature to save. I chose to pick a reading from the   Gospel of Mark  Unit from the King James Bible (1611). I enjoyed a few readings in Unit A like, The Miracles of Jesus and Jesus the Healer. The Gospel of Mark is familiar to me because I was raised in a christian home.    Gospel Book of Otto III The setting of t his story is in the Gadarenes. It is explained to be a sea close. A man with a unclean spirit and couldn't be tame him. He would cut himself with stones. I think I want to give the man a name, maybe angel. I know that may seem weird to name a disturbed man angel. However, I think in my story I can maybe change his outcome to something as great as an angel.  Angel asked God what must he do not to be tormented and God demanded the unclean spirit must come out of the man . God possessed the pigs with the demon spirits and the pigs ran down the hill and drowned in the lake. People could not believe the demoted possessed man was pure.
