Extra Credit: Video Post. Mythical Caves and Gardens.

Mike Rugnetta talked about the many different settings that mythical stories have. I found this video interesting because I found that he was saying to be true now that I have explored tons of many different stories in the Mythical Folklore world. He talks about how many mythical stories share the same settings. There are a few important places that myths happened like caves waters gardens, forests and temples. For an example there was a story that I re-write that was based off of a story that was mostly involved in water. It was called the Great Flood and the story was about Manabush and his brother. Mike Rugnetta also talked about the origin of the meaning of caves and gardens and refers back to the beginning of humanity when Adam and Eve was created. They happened to be in the Garden of Eden. Which was looked at a physical and metaphorical place. It is described to be a lush and growing place. Because of human disobedience they were casted out of the perfect paradise but the garde...

Tech Tip: Automotivator for Making Posters

Image
I decided to use the Graphics Creation Tips for my technology tip. I created a meme  Automotivator , this is pretty cool because I haven't made a meme before. I chose this picture because I find this picture pretty humorous and the first thing that came to mind was the quote I attached. I wanted to do the typing test but I have nails on! I am going to do that one before the semester is over though!

Extra Credit Reading : The King o' the Cats

Image
This story is apart of the  English Fairy Tales (2) unit  written by Joseph Jacobs. This story is about sexton's wife and her big black cat who waited for the master to come and he came running in yelling, " Who's Tommy Tildrum?". He wanted to know who Tommy Tildrum was because he fell a sleep in a grave who belonged to Mr. Fordyce. He woke up from Miaou from a cat that looked like Old Tom. The cats wanted him to tell Tom Tildrum that Tim Toidrum's dead. He did not know who Tom was so he couldn't tell anything. Tom spoke and said "What -- old Tom dead! Then I am the King o' the cats" I like these stories because they are unpredictable. I would have never thought this story was going to end that way. I thought the cats carrying the coffin was going to be violent in some way. If I were to re-write that story I would definitely do that! I also think the ending of the story was a little bad. It ended with the cat running up the chimney. I fee...

Reading Notes: Nigeria Myths EXTRA CREDIT

Of the Pretty stranger who Killed the King notes: The main character is MBOTU a famous king of Old Town, Calabar. He had many enemies and they wanted to kill him but they couldn't. The people of the town was not strong enough. Therefore they found a witch that could turn herself into anything she wanted. This reminds me of situations we have today within out presidential and governmental system. There are always a group of people who are not pleased with decisions made during elections or even after elections. They may not be satisfied with the decisions the president makes. I am thinking I may choose a past President of the United States and have one of the citizens that want to kill the President to turn into the Vice-President or someone who does not pose a threat to the President. It would be a cool idea to maybe have multiple people running for Vice-President and have the one he likes the most, turn on him. The king became aware of the witch because of how beautiful she wa...
