Story Telling Week 12: The Horned Witches
I can recall it was a very late night. I stayed up late and polishing conch shells by the fireplace. I was trying to keep my mind busy and not think about the death of my pet snail Gary. Some nights I just can not rest. Then suddenly I heard a knock at the front door. The knock was so hard it scared me. A voice called out, "Open! Open!"
"Who is there?" I asked.
The voice said, "I am the Witch of one Horn"
I was shocked! I never had a Witch come to my house! I threw the conch shell on the ground and I freaked out. I paused for a second a thought to myself maybe Patrick or SquidWard sent the Witch over. They are my neighbors. I went to open the door and the Witch barged in. She grabbed some of the conch shells and sat by the fire. I closed the door behind her and sat down on the couch. The Witch was weird because she did not speak once she took her seat. She sat in silence but she polished the conch shells aggressively. After 10 minutes went by she paused and said aloud: " Where are the women? They delay too long."
Then suddenly there was a second knock on the front door, and a voice called out, "Open, Open!"
I walked towards the front door and as I grabbed the knob the door flew open and the Witch barged in and said; "I am the Witch with two horns, give me a place"
I replied, "What in the tartar sauce is going on ? Who are you all? "
They fell in silence and the knocks continued. The witches continued to say; "Open, Open!" and barge their way in until there was 12 Witches with 12 horns.
I was scared nearly to death. I was froze in fear at the door like some kind of curse was on me. I could not move any part of my body. All I could do is look at the 12 Witches.
One of the Witches cried out, "Walk to the kitchen and make us a cake!"
My body accelerated towards the kitchen like I had superpowers or maybe it was the curse. I looked for a bowl and a mixer and the Witch said, " You must get the water from the well outside so the cake can mix well."
I grabbed the bowl and accelerated towards the well outside and I began to pour water into the bowl. Surprisingly, the water that I poured in the bowl fell straight through the bowl, unto the ground. I cried out, "No, no, no this has to work the Witches will never lift this curse off of me! I will die cursed.
I accelerated back towards my house and it was gone. I could not believe my eyes. First, my pet Gary was taken from me. Now, my home.

Authors Note: This story is based off of the Celtic Fairy Tales. I enjoyed the original story. However, I did want to make some changes in my story. The beginning of the story I kept the same. I enjoyed the idea of having multiple witches coming into Spongebob's house unannounced. The part that I was not a big fan of his how the witches used the water to make the cake. In the original story the witched used the water that was from washing a kids feet and that was from the blood of the sleeping family. It was a cool idea from the original author but that was weird to me. So, I made my story not even have a solution to the that Spongebob was not able to retrieve and I left him cursed with nowhere to live.

Hi Taylor!
ReplyDeleteGreat story! I liked that you took the original story and made it work for spongebob. It was good that you took the elements of the original story that you liked and kept them. Then changed the parts you were not so crazy about it and changed them for fit to your story better. I am not sure if Gary died in a previous story but I am sure spongebob was sad and then all these witches just came into his home.
Hi Taylor! I loved your story. I liked how you used Spongebob. It was super creative and original. I enjoyed how you altered the plot line of the original story. It was refreshing how you made it more light hearted. Overall, I really enjoyed reading this. It was very entertaining!
ReplyDeleteHi, Taylor! I loved reading this story of yours as well! I have not yet read the original version, but after reading your version as well as the authors note, I think I have a pretty good idea of what goes on in the original story! I have read some of your other stories in the past, and I have loved every single one of them! I have never been a Spongebob fan, but I think you have done amazing things with these stories! Good job!
