Story Telling : SpongeMom Know's
I can recall, when I was a little sponge, my mother would get up every morning and cook breakfast for my father and I. My mother would cook some pancakes, biscuits with fresh jelly jam, bacon, sausage and eggs. Those were the best days of my life. While she was cooking I would be outside rolling around on my skateboard. She would yell out the kitchen window when the food was ready. She was the best mother ever. Just as frequent as she would cook breakfast, she would say,"Now, SpongeBob you be a good boy today and STAY AWAY from the skate park down town". I never really understood why she would tell me that everyday. Me, being the good boy that I was, I never went to the skate park downtown.
It was time to go to school after breakfast and I saw the bus parked outside the house. I asked my mother if it was okay that I rode my skate board to school. Surprisingly she said, "Yes, SpongeBob. Be safe son.".
I screamed out, "YOUR'E THE BEST MOM!".
Looking back on that morning I wish she would have told me, "No."
As I was skating to school I passed by Patrick's house. I saw him standing outside waiting for the bus. I yelled out, Pat grab your skateboard! We are not taking the bus today." He grabbed his skateboard and we rolled out. I wondered if Sandy wanted to ride her skate board with us. She lived down the street from Patrick. We stopped by her house and she was not outside. We continued to skate and a couple seconds later, Sandy fleet by and said, "Come on punks! Last one to the skate park is a nematode!"
Without a second thought I raced her and Patrick to the skate park downtown. Once we got there we were skating like crazy. Patrick ended up being the nematode. I was doing flips and tricks off the railing and the I skated into the tunnel and never came out. It was dark and it felt eerie. I began to slow down and check out the tunnel. I saw a pair of eyes looking dead at me in the dark. I began to panic. In the next second someone, snatched me and threw me in a bag! I could remember anything except when I arrived at a peculiar house.
I was surprised to see it was Squilliam Fancyson, Squidwards evil brother. I knew I was in trouble! This is why my mother told me not to come to the skate park downtown.
Squilliam pulled me out of the bag and sat me down. He felt my arms and my legs. "You're rather tough," he said. " I think you might be all I have for dinner. You won't taste bad boiled. I have prepared fresh herbs from my garden that would compliment you."
I began to scream and holler for my mother. I even screamed for Patrick and Sandy. They could not hear me!
Squilliam tied me up and stuffed an apple in my mouth. I had never been so terrified in the my life! All I wanted to do was skate and now I am dinner. He lowered me in the pot, turned the fire up and covered the pot. I noticed he left out the room. I used my feet to kick the top off and I ran out of his house naked with an apple in my mouth!
Authors Note: I wrote this story based off of Mr.Miacca from the storybook English Fairy Tales. The original story was about a boy who did not listen to his mother. He was sometimes a good boy and sometimes a bad boy. He decided not to listen to his mother when she told him not to go in the street by himself or he might get caught by Mr.Miacca. Mr.Miacca is known for capturing kids. That is exactly what he did with him. In my story I made SpongeBob that little boy. I made a pre-story to the original story instead of re-writting it where it started

Hi, Taylor! First off, I have to say that I really enjoy your style of writing. I think making Spongebob the center theme of your project was a great idea. I also applaud you for being able to take an original story from thousands of years ago and make it fit in the Spongebob world! Overall, I think you did a wonderful job with this story and I look forward to reading more from you in the future!
ReplyDeleteHi Taylor! I've gotta say, this was definitely a new take on this story! I can't say I've thought much about the childhood Spongebob had, but I liked your perspective on it. I can see him being generally obedient, so it was fun and interesting to see how he would handle a situation where he disobeyed and could clearly see the consequences. The nematode insult also made me smile. Good work!
